I wouldn't call this video a parody, nor a spoof, but rather, the truth. It seems the world nowadays often gets lost in the idealism of the abundant lifestyles of others. This song, originally the hit jam from JayZ and Kanye West's Watch the Throne, is sung so often on the streets as if niggers be living this shit; news flash, hardly any of us are. And although I do not condone the escape from reality music sometimes provides, Yasiin Bey reminds us remain conscious..to keep us focused on the real issues of society on hand so as to eventually figure out the solution and effect change. I love that he kept it as catchy but it's the exact opposite of the original- it's profound.
