birth of DOA

Knowledge.

Epic days when I got the opportunity to cover Young Guru (JayZ's engineer...nigga JAYZ'S PEOPLE) on his trip to Cape Town to launch his scholarship fund on behalf of Okayafrica.
Every moment in his presence was overwhelming, to think I was that girl on stage all up in his face while playing tryna get a good shot, and I was allowed! The set was dope, featuring the good ol jams from Slum V to JDilla shit...
The preceding workshop that week was inspiration in its pure sense... Young Guru really is one of the forefathers of hiphop to our generation in a sense, he was there when it all began (from being varsity mates with PDiddy believe it or not); and for all you with Jigga as your top 5 rappers you have him to thank for the quality of his music. Not as to mention when I witnessed the creative process to the creation of DOA- Young Guru manually sampling the original song, timing, arrangement, and with a click of a button, revealing the well known intro queuing the chant "na na na na..hey hey hey.." from the audience.
Priceless.

Thank YOU Young Guru.

ps. seeing that Rocafela chain real life was some OTHER shit too.
