Solange_Losing You

SO DERIVATIVE!

New queen B of the hipster generation Solange Knowles made waves with her visit to Cape Town for the purposes of an Elle shoot and general appropriation of loktion culture...or lets call it inspiration.

The song is endearing and cute, and I can sway to it with my eyes closed. Watching the video along with it however, I'm alittle disorientated- clearly the concept is zero but general quirky fun, and I think the issue (the wiggly worm in one's tummy) is that it's too close to home-featured are your Cape town cool creative crowd such as a beaming JR aka Dr Pachanga over there for example.

Regardless, there is no doubt this video will change the game on foreign shores- the location is marvelous with character and the fashion is as vocal and spot on. SA culture was best captured- loved the "pile into a kombi" scene :)

All in all, I respect her initiative to not emulate but actually draw from the true source and actually involve locals- passerby randoms and aspiring individuals.
